Beyond the Model: How Interaction Design Makes AI Useful

Which LLM should you use? That’s usually the first question.
But after building real-world AI systems, we realized something:
👉 The model matters.
👉 The design of interaction matters more.
Most people expect AI to “just work.” In reality, without the right structure, even the best models will:
Drift off-topic
Produce inconsistent answers
Sound confident… but be wrong
So instead of chasing models, we focused on how the AI thinks:
- Clarity over creativity
Clear, explicit instructions outperform clever prompts every time
- Structure over free-form
Predictable outputs = reliable systems
- Context over assumptions
Better input → better output
- Systems over single prompts
Breaking problems into steps dramatically improves accuracy
The result?
👉 It starts feeling less like a chatbot…
👉 And more like a dependable system
That’s the shift happening right now: From “cool demos” To “production-ready AI”
So yes - model choice matters.
But the real leverage?
How you design the interaction.
